My book says to to check the oil level while the bike is level. Not leaning on the sid stand. Don't do it on a rear paddock stand. No oil will show in the sight glass.

Do it with the sun on the sightglass side makes it easier to see the oil level. Once you pull the bike off the side stand you can feel the balance point.

Easy as pie, but then I am ambidextorous (someone will correct my spelling)

Let the bike mechanic do it next time it needs repairs.

How do you check oil on a BMWobbler Busgo

Like this: You pick up the phone & dial the service pick up truck. They take your bike to their shop & check everything then deliver it back to you

Why soil my delicate hands on that baby when I can get a flunky to do it

What if one of my legs is shorter than the other, will that make it look like it isn't level ??

That's why god made unlevel surfaces.

Rev, I'd hate to see the bill for checking the oil on a "BM Trouble-you"

Pan,

BMWobble U's have seperate engine and gearbox oil unless it's a K series which means it has car servicing intervals. The previous quote applies to the R series engines before the rivet counters start slagging!!

The problem is the leaking not the burning, and I do believe you have comeback against Spewzuki and Sydney City Motorcycles for giving you a Hayabusa Diesel.

Do your own oil changes, see where it comes to on the spyglass when the bike is on the rearstand, then you check it this way when you want to. Don't have to worry about balancing it, when checking it in the future if you're nervous about doing that.

I always throw in the whole 4 litre bottle. Many on SH.ORG say the extra (they recommend a quart ) covers a cold start cheesecake design deficency.
