Chain Links!
#1
Hey all,

I have just fitted a new chain and sprckets on the bus, and I sort of had 2 many weetys this morning as I squashed the link plate a little to hard and now one of my x rings is bulgeing out of its seams.

Has anyone done this before or am I just having one of those you DICK days.

Also can you buy the link on its own as I have read of people removing a link to shorten the wheel base and if so where?

Get it replaced by a pro with the right tools Fords. Doesn't cost much. The damage a dodgy link will cause on a high HP bike can be scarey... A joining link is about $10 ish. (Plus fitting)

I swear by the one link less wheelbase mod. Bike turns in better and doesn't wallow as much in the corners. The down side is some loss of stability from 280 klm/h and above. (I'm told )

Just do it!

Thx for the info GDYUP, are you running a 40T or 42T rear sprocket as if a reduce the chain by another link I might run out of adjustment. I have a 42T with I think it was 55links.
