Work is looking for the following.
Java Software Engineer
We are looking for a quality Java Software Engineer who enjoys building real world systems with the following background:
Solid Java development skills with several years of experience building and supporting the systems you have designed.
Experience in the following frameworks and tools is advantageous:
Spring (Core, JDBC, Remoting)
Eclipse Rich Client Platform
Maven
Alternatively, a track record of learning and mastering Java technology frameworks will be considered
A desire to be responsible for analysis, design and development, with guidance (where required) from experienced Java Architects / Developers
A genuine interest in the racing industry and form analysis would be advantageous
Must be comfortable interfacing with non-technical customers
Generalist IT skills are also desirable. Such as:
Network troubleshooting
Minor C# development (for tools and basic UIs)
Linux familiarity
Our company provides form analysis services on thoroughbred, greyhound and harness racing meetings across Australia. We have a large customer base that includes betting agencies all over Australia. Our information is the best in the industry and is distributed via paper, Internet, SMS, and satellite channels.
Due to the demand for enhancements to our service offering, an in-house Java Software Engineer is sought to drive the future development of the core systems that are used for form analysis and information distribution.
Our offices are based in Alexandria and we are looking for somebody to join the team immediately.
