Chain Gang disc rotors, anyone tried them?
#1
Hi all,
Not sure if people know about Chain Gang, but they are well known in the dirtbike world for making excellent sprockets.

They are an aussie company and now make disc rotors as well, but they are solid. I am wondering if anyone has tried them, and what they think of them. Also on the rotor subject, has anyone tried the Ebay offerings? I would be hesitant but you never know, they might be a bargain!

Yes, We have a link to the Chain Gang in our Vendor's section I think.
Some people have reported trouble contacting them in the past.

Thats alot of rotors!
Were they all on your bikes? How long untill you had to replace them? I would classify rapid wear as a drama.............

last time i spoke to the chain gang he was selling the remaining stock of sprockets as the cost of the materials had gone up 300% or more and was no longer viable once his labour was added. With rotors ,any after market rotor with a higher carbon content than the stockers will bite better than oem.IF you push them and do track days etc or stop from high speed ,the old saying applies, ten dollar head, ten dollar helmet.Ebay anodised brake and clutch levers are a perfect example of this, they break easily and you dont brake easily.Pi_freak

NO! not all on my bike, over the last year or so thatâ€s how many set I have fitted to customers bikes, some of them were used as track/road, some were just high speed road and some were just road, none showed any drama except one set which stuffed up after a rock got stuck in the calliper but that could happen to any rotor.

And yes I do use them on my bike, and feel quite happy with them and my bike is no slug!

And as for “the old saying applies, ten dollar head, ten dollar helmet.” Everyone needs to look at where pretty well all the top named safty gear “ helmets, leathers, gloves, back protectors and boots” now coming from.

But in the end it comes down to, you buy what your "happy" with !
