Many of the guys did this with a resister. Searching thru the old threads you should be able to find it.
From memory the resister was a 5.6k and was 3cents from Dick Smiths. with rounding down it came to absolutely nothing.
Heaps did it.
I didn't need to. With a '99 the wildly optomistic speedo will happily still go past the 300 with very little effort. (under controlled conditions of course!!)
