Oil Pump Pickup --bits and pieces
#1
This is what I found in the pickup a year or 2 ago . The last rebuild there was nothing to be found. I assume these are remnants of the factory assembly or the previous owner??
anyway, just a carry over from Wearleg's issue without contaminating the post.

Pieces appeared to be Silicone gasket material in nature

Looks like the coating from the pan (sorry Pan) gasket.

Make sure there is nothing in that pickup (which I doubt) after cleaning it - better still $25 from memory for a new one.

Keep us updated.

Yer, I'm not sure Leonard , although the sump gasket is a graphite coated material and no silicone should be applied to it. I think it originated from the split cases and an over zealous Japanese assembly worker??

I only look for metal these days........ and havent found any. New crank / rods will go in soon.
