Buying a Toyota
#1
Just to let you all know so that nobody else gets caught by the fine print.

I have just bought a car through Toyota finance.

I was offered a good interest rate so asked if there were account keeping fees as my credit union also ok'ed a loan. sure there are no "account" fees as such but unless you sign away control of your life and money and give them authority to direct debit there is a payment handling fee each time you make a payment.

Even though setting up a payment myself with my CU uses the same system as direct debit the scum suckers want a fee.

My little rant over. should have went with the CU

Yeah,
I make a lot of use of the GE Money interest free thingy & always make sure it's paid out before the interest free period is finished.

These pricks charge a fee for RECEIVING a Bpay payment from the bank.
little pee wee suckers!!!!!!

From my son's advice, (he worked for Harvey Norman for a while), anything you buy on GE Money at interest free terms is automatically 5% or more dearer than cash price.

I have brought 3 cars through Toyota Finance.

Things may have changed, I don't have a car loan anymore, but I have never had to agree to a Direct Debit.

I always paid my account by cheque, until I started Internet banking with my CU, such as Bpay.

Yep. I understand that Busgo. But I'm happy to pay an extra 5% for the convenience of stretching the outlay over 3 or 4 yrs. Damn site better than interest on a personal loan or a credit card.

I hate GE money with a passion, they farcking prey on people who cannot afford to borrow what they offer, Pi_freak pensioners, people on the dole etc etc.

My motto is No Money, No Honey.
I don't have a credit card and I don't want one, only have Visa debit use my own cash. Coolsmiley

im a cash sorta guy. last car i bought was a xr6turbo ute cost me 40k. made me laugh cause the accounts girl couldnt count cash. she said out of the 5 years she has been doing that job shes never seen more than $1000 cash and thats only when people put deposits down. the country is mad on debt! ive got a loan now for my bike but its fairly minor. the thing that pisses me off is people that get loans for 100% of the cost of there bike plus gear so they owe way more than they could ever sell the bike for
Regards
