Hi techo types,
My computer is as slow as a wet week. Tried defragger her but it shows lotsa frags and my defragger wouldn't touch it - Disk Keeper lite.
Have a new version of ad aware 2008, not much improvement.
Methinks I need a good defragging. Can any of you techo types suggest a good shareware defragger that I can install without dramas that will do the job please?
Many thanks.
Max

Hey Max.
The STOCK Windows Defragging and Error Checking Tools should be all you need in this department.
Go to your My Computer Icon or Menu selection,
Right click on the C drive,
Select Tools from the tabs,
Use the Error Checking Tool first and when it is finished
Use the Defragmentation tool.
It will take a long time so start before you go to bed.
If it stops for a reason, click to continue.
If it fails at any point, simply go back and start again.
You must have a fairly large amount of free space to begin with though.
If you don't, delete some applications that you don't use any more before starting.
Do the deletions from the "Add/Remove Software" option in CONTROL PANEL.
"If time catches up with you. You're going too slow!"

Thanks guys.
I only had 12% unused space on the disk. Went into the "shared" folder and found that my daughter (16yrs) has been savign her music downloads there 7 gigs WTF! sent them to the music folder on the other disk. got rid of the defragger disk keeper lite and have used the Windows defragger,. Speeded the system back up.
Cheers
Max
