Crash Repair - 1999 Bronze Busa

Hi All,

I recently had a minor fall on the bike and would greatly appreciate any tips, advise or contacts to assist in the repairs for some one living in the Frankston area of Melbourne Victoria.

The bike is a bronze 1999 model, the left hand side fairing is badly scratched across the decal with the recess for the middle top fairing bolt smashed out leaving the shank of the bolt in the frame.

The nose cone has a break around 18 cm long from the right hand mirror mounting down and also has abrasion damage to the left hand side.

I also cracked the alternator cover but I have sourced a replacement from a wrecker which I intend to fit this weekend.

My main problem is the fairing repair and re-spray of which I know nothing about so any help in that area would probably assist the most.

once you add the cost of repair then paint (rarely matched exactly) then $160 decal, youd be close to the price of a new fairing Id reckon. saide panel $800 odd but mint.

Cheapest /best option is to buy s/h from a wreckers or ebay correct colour , otherwise may as well get new ones , if you buy incorrect colour panels ,paint,sticker, you end up at nearly the same cost as new the colour is never exact & it craters with stone chips

The issue with buying new panels already painted for a 10 year old bike is "that they prob wont match"...your 10 year old panels will have faded..... UV, dirt , grime , acid rain etc.

so good 2nd hand panels way to go
