I.M 45 and hadn't had a bike for 20 years. I wanted to ride across from the west to the east.I was in Geraldton Western Australia and we had just sold the house and the missus and Kids were going to fly back and i was going to (buy a bike and do the i can still do it thing )I spent hours on the net reading about heaps of bikes and really wanted to buy something european(Do they still make Laverdas?Yea but they're f*&^ing ugly) Anyway nothing compared to the busa so i Bought a new 2007.(black of course)So to get to the point ive got 12000ks on it now and love to ride it hard,I have left the suspension untouched from factory(Always to soft.I'm 115 kilo) because firstly i wanted get used to using the power, But now I'm a total fucken maniac,and never having raced i would really appreciate some feed back on the best way to go about settin it up and things i should look for because at the moment on tight fast ones it wollows all over the show if i really cane it.Next Week I'm going up to quiet Mountain road i know to have a go at setting it up so any info would be much appreciated

G'day Chris and welcome to the club.
Congrats on the great bike choice (I'm an ex Laverda man too - SF750)
1st up, there are gonna be a stack of people tell you that you need to replace the springs on your bike because of your weight. They may be right.
However, I suggest that seeing as it is relatively new, that you just tighten the whole show up a couple of clicks on the front and back and see how you go.
The instructions in the handbook are pretty good for a start.
Leave your tyre pressures at 42psi front and back.
You may want to wind down the rear preload a couple of turns before you start playing with the other settings (I mean shorten the spring).
If you have the money to spend on new shockies front and back - see an expert.
A little adjustment goes a long way on the busa - so you may find a good setting on the stock bits.

Hey Chris by all means play with the stock suspension
but if you really want to ride like total fucken maniac
do your self a favor & get the suspension set up eg springs & valving to suit your weight & type of ridding that way you may just stay on the bike.
Have you done any upgrading to your brakes ?

Sorry i havn,t been able to get back to youse sooner.Ive done a heap of reading on the suspension thing and this weekend i'll have a good go at it and see if i can keep it upright.Shane,i havn,t upgraded the brakes as yet but it was somthing i was going to look at. I'll see how it stops once i stiffen it up a bit.Iv,e never had much problem outbraking anything untill last week an rx8 (fancy red one)got me on a round about and pushed me out in to the loose stuff.
I had seen him coming and stayed to the outside washed of enough speed just in case by a miracle he was gonna come down the inside.Surprised the shit out of me when he actually got there and i couldn't lean in.But being hard under brakes with a soft front end and factory front tyre i was always going to run wide anyway.It;s that big roundabout in Kooragang if anyone knows itanyway enough of the blah blah and i<ll let you all know how i go with the settin up

I take it you're back in the east now? If you're still over in WA, I can point you at a guy who has years of experiences setting bikes up for track work including Busas. With me (I'm a lightweight at 85Kg, I went to slightly stiffer front springs to make sure I got correct sag. He charged around $300 for new springs and a rebuild of std forks. Then set me up front and rear on stock shockies. Bike was transformed.
In his view, you need to be very serious before lashing out on major upgrades, but since I've only ever used stock, those who have swapped to after market best placed to give feedback.
