FrownHey Bruce ,
Shannons wont touch me till i,ve held my police credit card back for 12 months (feb 2009) all goin well , yet no-one will even give me basic fire & theft while my rocket sits in the kitchen , have been told to try insurance ombudsman for quotes but the driving record keeps popping its ugly head up - nil accidents (23 years) ,nil insurance(23 years - never owned anything worth it)- plenty speeding(cant help myself) - DUI(everyones guilty these days) - and only one point to share amongst the constabulary - any advice?
Cheers PhilfyWm

QBE for me shannons too expensive $3000.
QBE $2100
PREMIUM is $1837 for new busa @$18000 me no rating,45km over speeding offence last year 1 point left, imposed excess of $1250,$500 for speeding fine $400 normal excess.
Been riding 26 years only on pieces of shit not worth insuring hence the price.
Covers $4500 worth of riding gear also
Ride it just about every day. would rather spend $4k to get back $18k

hope this helps

Dont think they do Turbos Speed Demon.

Shannons did say as long as the bike is legal with the state authorities they will insure it.

As a side I thought the same, riding bikes driving cars that I didnt think were worth insuring, then it was pointed out I should have, as the premiums on the cheapies would have been less and I would have got my rating 1 sooner, live and learn I guess.

Also, if you have been uninsured for more than 3 years I think it is, they will put you back on the lowest rating regardless of history.

I use insure my ride they offer 25% discount for online and 5% for 12 months payment. They also offer quartley payment options and allowed me to carry over my rating 1 from my car to my bike i juast bought.

QBE will generally match insuremyrides (and anyone else) price. You just need to ask and probably fax them them the quote from the cheaper mob.

32 yrs old, no previous bike insurance, 65% no claim on my car and got my insurance for $740 for a new K8. All inclusions as per the PDS.
