Ive just bought one of these - its a lightweight side stand that breaks down to 3 small sections that is easily stored on the bike (or in your pocket).
It attachs to the spool which screws into the swing arm on the opposite side to the bikes side stand. The two side stands act like a centrestand enabling the back wheel to lift off the ground for chain lubing, puncture repair, cleaning, whatever.
I sent over to the states for mine - around $80 aus and the delivery time was a couple of weeks.
Its really well made and works great - highly recommended!
