Michelin Pilot HPX?

Does anyone know if the Michelin Pilot HPX tyres are available in Australia? If so where?

Hi There,

I have been trying to get a hold of these tyres myself.

At present no bike shop could help me, they (Action Suzuki) told me that they will not be in Australia.

I contacted Michelin HO and they told me to contact Wayne Gardner Enterprise as they are a distributor of Michelin.

Garnder Ent, has put in orders from overseas, but at present they have not been given any indication of availability. The best thing to do is to call Gardner Ent every few months and touch base.

I waited as long as possible before changing tyres, but can't hold if off anymore.

If you are unhappy with Bridgestone, why not consider the Dunlops or the Pirellis?

Demeester, I like the rear BT-56, but not the front. It has a weird profile which lets me get nowhere near the edge of the tyre, whilst the rear is at the edge. It seems to me to be too rounded and should have a flatter profile. It probably doesn't help that I recently dropped the Busa after the front let go! As for the Dunlop alternative, admittedly I havn't tried the 207's on my Busa, but previous experience with Dunlops has left a lasting experience. They feel "greasy" to me and slide very early. I know that some people prefer this to a tyre that grips well and then lets go with no warning, but not me. I won't try Pirellli's etc until they are rated suitable for the Busa or ZX12R due to fear of an insurance rejection should it all go wrong. The reason I am after the suitably rated Michelins is because I have never had a set of their sports tyres that didn't work well. And in particular, I love the grip and feel that the front Michelins provide.

that are rated for the Hayabusa,plus he also stocks Michelins
for the Hayabusa as well.

Grip, I find similar to Bridgestone, and better than the Dunlop.

Price, similar to the others ($20 or so, more).

Wear, is looking good, still plenty there at 5000kms. In fact, it took me a good amount of effort just to make it look like the tyre was in fact being used

I fitted Pilots on Sat, front and rear and I am STOKED. The bike is turning faster than ever and is really responsive. As I am still scrubbing them in, I didn't really give it a fist-full, but from what I am getting this far I am not bothering with the 207s again.

They are buggers to source though and I rang ACTION Canb a few weeks prior to fitting them so they had a chance to get them in. I'd say ring around and give it a go.

THe reason the bike is turning in faster is because the tyres have a nice sharp curve on them now because they are new, as they wear they flatten and need more effort to turn and less effort to keep upright at speed.

Thanks Jessie, I'll keep that in mind.

Took the Pilots out on the weekend and gave them a flogging. Given the treatment, the 207s would have been shredded and half useless. The Pilots barely showed any wear.

I'm stoked with them.
