Despite the disappointing number of riders who made the trip up, all those who made it appeared to have a great time (well, we did, anyway).
Friday (arrival) saw the Melbournians arriving after sunset (trouble getting out of bed) - although only a short section had been ridden in the dark (Thredbo starts to get quite cold around dusk). Sydney and Canberra had already met up in the bar.
Saturday morning was recovery time from Friday night, and the afternoon saw all pillions ditched and solo riders heading out to Cooma. Long sweeping turns, and rolling straights, perfect weather, time to remind the Busas what they are built for. Saturday evening, barbecue by torchlight.
Sunday morning, a semi-decent walk in the Jindabyne vicinity, and an afternoon ride (pillions this time) up through Perisher to Charlottes Pass and then across to Guthega (nice road, although the long shadows through the trees did play havoc with ones eyesight).
Monday, early start for the return journey. Unable to face the Hume, we cut through on back roads from Wodonga to Wangaratta, and then down to Mansfield. As the sun was setting, we returned via Yea rather than the spur. Got home well after dark.
