Finally licenced...

Swapped my UK for a NSW licence today.

After nearly four years, I think I've got the hang of how to avoid stupid Police pulls.

I've averaged five tickets a year, and promised myself I'd get legal after this year if I could avoid any tickets. Managed to get to March...then got two in three days.

However, none before or since, so I have challenged myself by jumping early and risking points in the Christmas season.

If I make 2006 with all my points, I reckon I will have cracked it.

This might sound like a stupid question, but getting booked five times a year and still having a UK licence WHY would you change it ? or have they taken it of you now ?

I'd like to say it's because I'm a law abiding person at heart, but it's not.

My employers keep giving me hassle that they haven't checked my licence yet, and the job calls for a full NSW licence, (despite the fact I never use the work cars).

One copper did scare me last year, though. At 08.00am (ish) on a Thursday, he rang through to immigration and found out I had been granted a permanent visa, hence requiring a NSW licence. Specialist traffic cop apparently.

It would be good if you could still keep the UK one for special occasions like getting book only

mmm next o/s holiday may get a extra licence, I wonder if anyone has done it ?
