Chain question
#1
I cleaned and lubed the chain today and then took the bike for a strap. When I got home I saw a little piece of something stuck to the chain. It turned out to be a mangled o ring, so I pulled it out.

Does this mean my chain is buggered and should be replaced or is it one of those things that happens? The bikes got 17,000 km on the clock. Regards,

I know how I'd deal with it. Remove the offending link, plus another one. Get a replacement joining link from a Suzuki dealer ($13) join it back up minus 2 links. Shorter wheelbase, no running wide in the corners now! Better wheelstands, and better handling in the real tight twisties. (And roundabouts)
Just my 2c worth. GIDDY UP!!!
Or just replace it with a joining link if you are concerned.
Cheers, Phil.

well your about 13k off replacement, usually quite buggered by 30k. Either as previously mentioned drop a few links and or with a 42 or 43 sprocket (I run a 42) or just get the best DID chain. Most have them in silver only, but Ron from Balls seems to have some in gold too.
