A big thank you to everyone who posted. I feel confident that the plug option is not unsafe - and I'm not considering any high speed stuff at the moment....

Big thanks to Bike Lifters (see attached card) who could get me down to a shop o. The day. This is my sole means of transport......
....also a big thanks to Tyres 4 Bikes who were able to fix it on the spot - ready to ride in under an hour.

Consequence was I only lost 1/2 days pay.....

I have done 300kmh with a plugged rear tyre and wore the tyre out.

Remove, plug and replace wheel within an hour was $70.00


I would not call around if it happened again. I think it was $50 if I'd brought in the wheel only. Thing is, I have no tools......and still would have had to get there and back somehow.

Maybe I didn't write it too well........when I said I wouldn't call around, I meant that I would get in touch with these companies again without hesitation.

I got Nail in my rear tyre at 1800kflogs got it pluged for $30 then she did another 3800kflogs til new tyre, no probs!

Michelin pilot road 4 GT..........has been good - but I don't push it too hard so my opinion doesn't really count :)

Plug it from the inside out and forget about it.

I did Brisbane to Dubbo and back in a weekend with a pillion and a plugged tyre
ran a 10.3 at Willowbank a few weeks later.

Current S20 I'm using was given to me because the last owner wouldn't
use it with a plug in it, even though it is almost brand new.

Plugged from the inside the worst thing that could ever happen is a very slow
leak, you'd need dynamite to shift the plug.

I'm always happy to find a home for newish 190/50, 190/55 or 200/50's.
I love getting free tyres because other wont plug them.
