Trusty K5 got rear ended last night at the lights, low speed, but I'm concerned if the tyre took brunt of impact what unseen damage is there despite on the surface being a minor shunt e.g swing arm mount to gearbox/motor.
I recall advice on this form years ago that I need to express to insurance co they need to guarantee in writing the bike still be fit for the purpose it was designed for i.e.2-up at 110 km/h on the freeway OR if I choose 250 km/h down the straight on a trackday = whether I do latter or not is irrelevant.
So I can see why it doesn't take much to write them as by pay and auction they just avoid any liability claims - but I wonder how much this is influenced by my statement to assessor/insurance about concerns.
