Good find Gruntmax Pi_thumbsup Note that ceramic coating like the Jet-Hot actually lowers the headers temperature and not increase it like the wraps do. That makes some sense. Still the power gain would really be very minute and I doubt worh the money for an average busa rider. Cheers Biker

example: Pump a high pressure gas cylinder up fast and it gets hot. Stop pumping, note the temperature & pressure of the gas bottle. Check 5 minutes later when it cools. Low & behold, less pressure which means less density. Cold air is less dense than hot air Clap

You confuse the density which is a ratio of mass to volume and applies to all solids and liquids with the pressure that only makes sense for gases and it simply indicates the amount of energy contained in a gas. In your example with a gas bottle the pressure drops as the cyliner cools because some of the gas energy is lost as a radiant heat. At the same pressures the hot air is less dense than cold. That is why in winter the engines develop more power than in summer. If hot air was more dense than cold, we would not have a hot air baloons and the chimneys would not work, and there would be no gliders or tornados either and the condors would be droping to the ground Pi_thumbsup
Once again, you are referring to induction temperature instead of exhaust gas temperature.

Lowers the external header temperature. Not the internal header temperature.

Here ya go jamdonut, just up the road from you;

....although, I wonder how the increase in internal exhaust temperature would effect the service life of one's wide band, or for that matter, the narrow band OEM one ?

Cheers,
I'd found that one before when somebody was looking into piston coatings, although these guys will make you custom coated pistons if you want. Also a Bob Carr or sociopathic insurance company lawyer wank unless your going Supercharged, Turbo or High Compression Stroker Motor
