First time in a long time.

Sat in the garage, cleaning rims and fitting new rego sticker,
Phone go's "Its Shane (GSXR7/11), we're nearly at Willow Bank, You coming?"
Talk about short notice Mate !!

Grab a lid and Jump on the 04. Bog stock except for Yoshi cans
and a TRE. Blast up to the strip.

Quick run through scrutineering and buy a 1 day licence and im in the que.

Pull a couple of low 11's to find out what the strips like,
(Grippy as Hell!) and find out where the return road exit is,
and generaly get into the swing of things.

Bit of coaching from Rick "You wont wheelspin tonight, more rev's more clutch and dont flip it!"

I then pulled an...
10.676,
10.648,
10.785,
10.561,

Cant run faster than a 10.5 at this meet (Im in Jeans and no ANDRA licence) so thats what I aimed for (5.000) when the racing started.

Whoops. Major balls up.. Ha ha,
Pulled a Red Light, my only one of the night,
AND broke out of my bracket with a 10.403.

Never mind. Still came home happy.
First time near a strip in years and pulled a genuine 10.4
on a near stock bike.

Sure this is nothing flash to most of you,
but I enjoyed it !

Glad you had a good time. Willow Bank is a great strip and real

nice set up, I love going there to race. I cant wait to come

back down for the Nat's in September

10.4's are a real good start. It wont take long before you are

knocking on the door of the 9's.......... Regards Richard

Good work Tony, don't worry about a licence yet, you only have to wait till September thats when the cut off is lowered to 9.99.

Dave, seeing as how September is so close are they knocking anybody back for running under 10.50 or are they turning a blind eye.

We haven't been to the track since the Winternationals as we found a spun bearing in the shop bike and have lost track of what's happening at the track itself. That low oil pressure through 1st gear isn't helpful to bearing life.

It looks like there may be a couple of other Normally Aspirated Hayabusa's trying to join us in the 8's. If we're going to try and keep the title of Australia's quickest Normally Aspirated Hayabusa we'll have to keep on our toes. They run wheelie bars and slicks and we run no-bar and street tyre, but I think we can do it. With a superflow flowbench and Dyno Dynamics dyno in the shop now hopefully we can put some improved numbers down.

WSID have been turning a blind eye ever since it was announced that the cut off was to be lowered.
