Pillion restrictions?
#1
Asking around it looks like I either mix in simple circles, or not much is known about age/size/whatever restrictions there are on taking pillions on bikes (or both).

With our beautifully consistent rules around the states I am sure of one thing - there will be differences across borders.

My questions is, do we have anything specific on minimum age, physical size, whatever else before someone can be on a bike as a pillion? State by state do we have differences?

(Of course this doesn't include the most important things like maturity of the pillion, knowledge of riding, feeling safe, and other things that can't be legislated)

8 years old AND must be able to fully reach both footpegs. The AND is very important, must satisfy both.

Yep.

Plus, if pillion passengers were banned our CTP premiums would go down, since half of the claims made against motorcyclists are from pillion passengers who've been injured because their middle-aged husband crashed his shitbox Harley.

A good idea, however, they shouldn't ban em, but make em have 2 x rego labels displayed & paid for,. for the pigs to view:

Take note Big Kev, that could save youall $$$$s. The pigs are not blind, 2 riders, 2 labels. Make em pay for their own pillions insuranceWtf

The CTP in Qld is not subject to Bob Carr's "Caps" either, but you have to get "wiped out" in the state of QldCoolsmiley
