Anyone done Marulan?
#1
Hi guys.

I'm doing a overnight trip this weekend down south, and doing a track day at Marulan, NSW. Has anyone done a track day there before, and if so, what can I expect? Pi_thumbsup or Pi_thumbsdown
I assume from the stats and map of the track, it's short and tight.
Thanks in advance.Very Happy

Well it sounds like we're going to be doing it together, I'm there too. Are you one of the Newcastle mob that Garry was telling me about? I haven't ridden Marulan, but Blackzook has and Loafie likes to crash there A LOT. It is short and tight, I'll be running the RGV, what will you be on?

I'll be easy to find, I'm tall with crazy hair and we'll have three RGVs with us.

Sweet. I'm with a Central Coast crew. I'll be on a ZX6R, which is green strangely enough. I'm tall also, with tatts. Looking forward to meeting you.Very Happy

Garry (the owner) is very excited you mob are driving down. I rang today, there is only 17 people booked in. I'm hoping that will translate to more track time! Looking forward to meeting you too. Where are you guys staying?

COOL! See you at the track. I'm going out to play with the RGV now. It is close to zero degrees out there, so I'll be wearing my super uggies. Just a word of warning, it is getting damn cold here at the moment. It will only be a fraction over freezing when you get to the track, and it will get cold again at about 3pm. Bring lots of layers!

Marulan is a great but tight track, youll find that you prob wont get out of 3rd gear .
Turn 7 is notorious for catching people out its the last left hander , its huge fun just take your time learning it

Home safely, and completely knackered. What an adventure. Hotel was absolute sh#t. Weather was great. Only got a couple a light spits all day. It was quite cold though, and rather hard to get any heat into the tyres. The track was awesome. Very tight, and very twisty, but the hotmix was smooth and consistent. Was easy to concentrate on my lines, as I could do the whole lap in 2nd gear, and would only get up to about 120 odd on the short straight. It is run very casually mind. No gear or bike checks, and only two flag points. Lots of short 10 min sessions, which works well, as its very physical. Don't know if I could do it in over 30 degrees.
Awesome time, will be going back for sure.
