Not the most tech-savvy guy going around so I'd thought i'd throw this question up and see if any could give me a hand

Trying to download movies off the internet I can't get them to play properly. They play ok for a little while but then they freeze, or go stuttery, or the sound and what's on the video don't syncronise.

Is there an upgrade to one of my video players or a program I need to play the vids properly?

If the downloaded files are corrupt or of poor quality, they will always be just that.
If that's the case you could have the best player in the world and it still won't help.

It looks more of a system issue (hardware) more then software - can you give me the machine spec on which you are running the movies

Also what format are the movies??

Try downloading VLC player its free and it will run everything.

I use it on PC, MAC and Linux.

If its still causing issues and you can watch a dvd via vlc its the file if you have the same problem with a dvd in your computer its your PC..

Might give that VLC Player a shot. The only thing is I'm playing the videos direct from the website - the same as youtube. Will it still work?

It could well be your Internet link itself. Are you using the same service provider as your mate on the same plan?

VLC may or may not work. Depends how they're doing it on their end.

If you are playing videos direct from a website then your actual problem might be you have a slow connection or they have a busy server

Hey if your watchin it directly from a Website VLC player will not help.

Your internet connection will be to slow most likely and the only way you can get around it is if you have the ability to pause it like you can do in youtube.

Let the whole movie buffer up/download first then you can watch it.

Also there is a website cant remember of the top of my head but if you add its web address with the youtube link or similar.

It will actually extract the video and you can save it.

Give google a go.
