Real HP, is there any standard
#1
Hey guys,

New to the forum and just picked up my 1st GenII Busa brand spanking new.
I have been searchin for info on HP readings for a stock busa with pipe upgrades, now i read reports like 200+ HP with a pipe upgrade and came across this webpage.

http://www.factorypro.com/dyno/true1.html

I know figures often get inflated but i am constantly seeing figures around 150-170HP at the rear wheel on other busa sites and was wondering if anyone had any true figures or do we simply run off what we get from the dyno guys.

Am yet to get mine tested but will be adding the R77 carbons over next few weeks.

Cheers.

Every bike and every dyno is different in different environments.

Suffice is to say that the hp at the rear wheel of a stock busa is great.
With your R77 cans it will be a little better and the bike will be lighter.
The torque will be fatter too which is more important for road use.

Dynos are a great marketing tool as well as a tuning tool.Get a before and after result on the same dyno(make sure the correction factor is the same). If you want to know the real improvement, bring it to the drags and see what it mph,s before and after the mods.A bike accelerates based on torque/weight.every 3kg weight loss is approx the same as 1ft/lb more torque,so if and exhaust system drops 15kg its like adding 5ft/lbs(everywhere) to the new dyno printout compared to the bike standard. Some dynos are very strict and some are Just pub bullshit, ive seen stock gen2,s read from 168-183hp on different dynos, the bike still goes the same.
