These Standards and Rules have been introduced with three (3) main objectives in mind. Firstly, to maintain order on the board. Secondly, to provide a solid framework to carry the forum forward - beyond our 10 year anniversary. Thirdly, to respond to calls from both the administrators and the members for greater consistency, clarity and transparency. With the introduction of the Forum Standards and Rules (along with the supporting policies and procedures), we believe all of these objectives will be achieved.
The Standards and Rules provide clarity on the behaviours necessary to sustain a friendly, enjoyable, stable and socially responsible culture on the forum.
The Administrators Code of Ethics provides administrators with clear, consistent guidelines.
The Warnings System is a fair, reasonable, effective and robust enforcement policy which assists administrators in maintaining order on the board.
The Complaints Process gives all members an opportunity to air legitimate grievances, have them investigated and achieve appropriate outcomes.
To ensure a high level of transparency, each of our new policies is fully documented and available for all to see.
The Standards and Rules, Administrators Code of Ethics, Warnings System, Complaints Process and associated procedures will provide the clarity, consistency and transparency you have asked for - and together they form the solid framework which will carry us into our second decade.
Enjoy.
Grace Period
There will be a short grace period (until midnight, 20 September, 2009 - EDST) which applies to Warnings & Demerit points only. Until that date, individual members of the forum team may exercise personal discretion before issuing a formal warning. However, in cases where two (2) or more members of the forum team agree that a breach is serious, immediate action will be taken strictly in line with the S&R.
Questions?
If you have any questions, please post into the "Ask Questions about the S&R here" thread only, so we can find them. Questions posted elsewhere will be assumed to be rhetorical - so post in the correct thread. Ok? Also, please ensure you've read through all the Standards, Rules, Systems and Procedures threads first... and check in the "Frequently Asked Questions" thread before you ask a question here.
The Australian Hayabusa Forum requires that all members and guests comply with a set of Standards and Rules (S&R). Failure to comply may result in the termination of your account, account suspension, or permanent ban of access to these forums.
These S&R are intended to improve your experience and enjoyment whilst on this forum by promoting sane, rational, harmonious, socially responsible interaction. The aim is to provide a stable, fun and relaxed leisure environment for you to enjoy. The S&R have been formulated as a result of requests for transparency, consistency and clarity. They may seem daunting, but the intended result is that both members and administrators will find it easier to participate and manage with the least possible intrusion and constraint.
Administrators uphold the Standards and Rules of this forum. The group comprising the Forum Owner and the Administrators is referred to as the “Forum Teamâ€.
The forum team also acknowledges the contribution of our Moderators - who are in charge of particular sub sections of the board (Eg : Motorcycle Council of NSW and How To Do It Yourself). Moderators do not have administrative powers.
The Forum Team are private individuals providing a free environment for the exchange of information, experiences, stories, jokes, technical information, DIY tips, assistance and opinion. They are not paid, donâ€t have legal training, make no guarantees and provide no warranties or protections. They are tasked with helping to provide you with the best experience they can on this forum.
These Standards and Rules may change from time to time without notice or consultation. The forum team will endeavour to make sure all members are fully informed of changes.
