Fuel pump
#1
Allo AHC members. I have been recently chasing a surging or fueling issue with my 04. I am sure that you all pretty much know what you are doing, but I had to get a parts schematics for the fuel pump, and subsequently all of the part numbers for the bits to go as well. I have to be honest, I thought yeh no worries, just pull the pump out and pull it apart...until I got it out. This may be helpful to some, or not ?

hot wire the pump whilst installed in the tank and measure the flow.If its less than 1.1L/minute your fuel filter is most likely blocked.I doubt it though, fuel shortage is an 04 is normally like a soft limiter around peak torque.

Thanks guys. I stripped it and replaced the filter sock at the bottom and gave the tank a good flush. Replacing the plugs today before putting it all back together (easier while the tank and airbox is all apart and off it). Fingers crossed, it "should be all good".

Oh sh#t. I found some crap under the strainer, probably from when the bike was sprayed, so maybe I might have a bit of luck ???

Can anyone suggest an airfilter, or is the K&N the only way to go. I still have the std airbox, but flapper valve gone and hole sealed up, and the std airbox mod done, ie cut open to the airfilter id.

Any suggestions ?
