I looked into it last year, remove rear footpegs and they have to be removed in a way so as you cant refit them after, ie grind off the mounts, remove rear seat obviously and then have a mod plate and inspection type thing done. I couldnt be arsed in the end. Didnt want to grind my exhaust hangars, didnt want to buy new ones to grind them off either. Lot of faffin about.

all you need to do with the footpeg brakets is pop rivet a washer over the hole. is does not have to ireversable, just not done in twenty seconds.
have done several bikes in the past and have 2 currently on single seat. 2 more to come next time renewal required. half the cost to rego, inspection and mod plate cost less than you save in the first year. if you dont need the second seat why pay for nothing. Not giving Nanny Bligh a single cent more than I absolutely have to.

Done two.
Removed foot pegs and pillion seat. Nothing more.
Everything will drop straight back on in 15 minutes.
If you want a garantee'd answer give Bri a call,
he did my roadworthy, and will do single seat compliances.

Thats one big problem you could go to three different transport offices and see three different people you will more than likely get three different answers Confused

I have a guy that comes out and does the mod plate's for single seat rego, his requirements are that your remove any strap/hand rail from the bike , Passenger pegs and seat if it is removable. ( just put the hump on ! )

When i first registered my xt600, DOT didnâ€t even look at the rear of the bike when it was inspected. As long as it has the mod plate DOT donâ€t seem to care .

If you want his details PM me.

EDIT: fixed spelling.
