Winding noise.
#1
Hey people i have just rplaced my chain and sprockets recently and they have had a winding noise ever since. I have done a little research and im guessing its my front sprocket.. Anyway i was wondering if it is bad to run it like this or if its just a noise thing??

i could be an alignment or tension issue. if so it would not be a good idea to run it like this. just make sure the chain is not over tensioned and the back wheel is correctly aligned (if you haven't already of course)
Let us know how you go :)

The factory front sprocket has a rubber damper on either side and costs about $100, aftermarket ones are shirt loads cheaper and do not have the rubbers. That may be the reason for the noise.

Quick Tip when adjusting the chain: Make sure you do it on the tightest part of the chain. ie. Rotate the back wheel whilst checking the tension untill you find the least slack in it & adjust it in that position Very Happy
