Storing my busa for a few months??
#1
Hey all!

I'm leaving for Europe in two weeks on tour for a whole two months and was wondering what I should do to store my Busa while I am gone?

I'm going to miss riding the beast (or any bike really Confused) for that period so I want it to be all good when I get back!!

I planned on putting it up on a rear race stand, disconnecting the battery (I don't have a trickle charger) and covering it with my bike cover.

Any thing else? All thoughts would be appreciated!

Cheers,

Lawrence

Thats all yo need to do. A trickel would be good as well but not that important.

That all you need to do, if you have a beer fridge in the shed pop the battery in there. The battery will hold its charge for a much longer period if kept cold.

Basmaniac,

Good luck with your trip.

If you want to be extra careful change the oil so that the contaminants in the oil (aciditiy, moisture etc) from combustion is removed. However, for two months I would not expect this to be a problem.

Thanks for the offer Bigfoot, I'll happily consider it if you left a large deposit! Come to think of it, if it was large enough then you could store it at our place for as long as you wanted!!! :)

As for the other tips, the beer fridge is empty at the moment as I have a slushie machine doing drink duties at the moment, so the battery might just go into it for the trip!
