New Computer Tower
#1
Been frakking with my 7 yr. old tower long enough. Things got so frakkin slow so time for a new tower.

I normally always get my stuff from MSY but theyve gotten too big and cant count on theyre service especially if theres a prob.

So I found this mob who is practically around the corner with good prices and from what I can see good service. He also sells on ebay where I found him and so far I do recommend him. His name is Peter.

So what did I get:

Intel Dual Core E5200 2.5GHz,
4GB DDR2 RAM,
500GB SATA HDD,
ASUS P5KPL-CM

Ebay Link

advertised for $488, I got from the shop for $470.

PS.Yea I know 32bit only recognises up to 3.5 gig Ram. But am ready for 64 bit and I dont need major graphix.

Hi Volvi, Vista 32-bit SP1 should support 4GB on your board. I run 8GB on a GA-M55-S3 through a Athlon 64 Dual core 46600 at 2400GHz using Vista 32-bit SP1 and it sees the whole 8GB. I did a lot of work updating the BIOS first so as to use 2008 64-bit Data Centre with Hyper-V setup for infrastructure and app testing but my main OS is Vista and it works fine with the 8GB. I see you have some over-clocking space too. By the way, Microsoft are getting there market ready with Windows 07 to move away from 32 bit systems and have officially released a statement that 2003 server will be there last 32-bit server OS, the desk tops are usually next so you may want to start on Vista to get ready for 07.

Thanks for your comments Banter, but at this stage reluctant to move to Vista not only coz I havent heard to many great reports but Ive paid for my XP PRO and thereby have full updating facilities. So as yet my system recognises 3.5gig out of 4 gig ram and dont see all the effort worthwhile for the extra half gig, not at this stage anyway. But thx anyway.
