Just completed the Gen II hump mod and think it looks good, in a third world workmanship sort of way. Took a bit of fiddling about but Iâ€ve just moved house and donâ€t have access to any of my tools so had to do with a dremel and leatherman. The following is how I did it minus the grief of thinking I was about to destroy part of my pride and joy.
1. Unbolt hump base from hump.
2. Mount hump base onto bike with grab rail fitted – the plastic is flexible enough to bend over the grab rail mounts.[attachment=4675]

3. Mark the hump base at the grab rail mounts.
4. Cut just enough of the base to clear the grab rail mounts. In doing this you will cut part of the base where the base mounting bolts go but this is ok as you canâ€t use those bolts later due to lack of clearance with the grab rail.[attachment=4678]

5. Re fit base to bike to make sure it clears grab rail mounts.
6. Mark bike with masking tape at the points where grab rail meets bike. I found this provided a rough guide to where the hump will meet up.
7. Remove grab rail and fit hump. Transfer masking tape points across to hump.
8. Re fit grab rail and measure height at front and rear.
9. Cut hump to correspond with these measurements. These only worked as a rough guide for me and I spent many hours light grinding with the dremel to get it right. For the finer adjustments I bolted the base back onto the hump and mounted it to the bike until it eventually fitted.
10. As mentioned before the rear hump bolts wonâ€t clear the grab rail so I fitted two plastic Champion brand push rivets P/No PP66 (Auto one). They are similar to the upper/lower fairing clips but require more force to fit.[attachment=4680]

11. Finished off with 360 and then 1000 wet and dry. Overall very happy with result.
Johnny.
