Hooks near Seat - Suz#5 - 07-05-2008

Biker

Does antbody know of an aftermarket replacement for those hooks near the seat?
I am looking for something that sits flatter and doesnt jut out for a K8

Cheers

You don't need to leave the hooks in at all.
You can take them out and just leave the hole that is unobtrusive.
There is nothing held together by them and they are just for hanging things off.

They actually fix the top end of the "duck-tail" to your subframe and there are two other bolts toward the back of the duck-tail holding it too. There are also the two visible smaller bolts just bollow you seat holding it on.

Not much can really go wrong if you remove them apart from a bit of movement when you sit back in your seat or if you carry a pillion. They are known as "Frankenstein Bolts". On eBay you can find flat/chrome replacements that will sit flush against the fairing/duck-tail.

WHOOPS! Just ignore what I said. I just noticed this is an 08 we're talking about! Frown

You're right Pan.
They do go through the rear section into the sub frame, but they don't actually support anything in the process.
I went without them for 3 years with no problem on the 99 bike.
