Hi all, just about to strip down my 03 engine and fit a full back cut trans and HD shafts, 0.08 spacer plate and a cometic head gasket and ajustable cam sprockets, and a set of pro-mod stud set.
Just after some helpfull tips or things to wach out for.

Fitting a RCC stage 1 turbo kit.......

Watch out for those promod studs (10mm) they used to be softer than the stock bolts......Although that was a couple of years ago they may have addressed the issue now. If you blow a head gasket early on I'd suspect the promod studs.

I drill the cases ,block and head for 1/2" bolts or studs and never had a problem. The head can then be torqued down to 80-85lfb instead of 60lbf like the promod studs. But thats usually for the race motors I build.

Sorry but you asked!!!

Thanks for the info, it all helps.

was going to use the larger studs but went with the 10mm.

New promod studs are fine, 65 lb in several stages, use good hp grease on the thread and head contact so it doesn't shudder and throw the readings out. just make sure the surfaces are true, i finish mine with 600 wet/dry wet with crc on a piece of glass , first few passes show lots of irregularitys.
Take your time ,check everything twice, zip tie the cam chain to the sprockets as your doing up the cam bolts. don't forget the small case bolt behind the counterbalancer .
