But the uk connection for micron exhausts is advertising crash nobs for the K8? make you wonder! the busanova RE: Oggy nobs or simmilar - Pommie - 10-04-2008 Busanova Wrote:Oggy nobsI asked the local accessories shop in Nerang about the price of some new knobs for my 02 and they wanted $180 bucks, nearly fell off my crutches laffin. Whats the biggest ones you can fit without drilling the frame etc RE: Oggy nobs or simmilar - steventh - 09-05-2008 Hi Nemesis, I posted a thread on fitting sliders which describes the main types. I have seen a set from the US which fit on a rod attached to the front of the engine extending through the vents - not sure how strong these are. Apart from these, as far as i know you must drill the fairings. I have seen some that replace the main fairing bolt. These are useless. Good Sliders use a 10mm bolt to attach into the engine mount (no frame drilling required) the fairing bolts are app 3mm. How big do they need to be? I found the 3" long ones more than big enough. Running a straight edge along the end of the lsider left plenty of room between it and the fairing. Before I fully recessed mine, I thought they were too long - especially when filtering through traffic because they stood out too far. Hope this helps Steven RE: Oggy nobs or simmilar - rb3221 - 10-05-2008 Had a bike go down 2 weeks ago which we had fitted the "no cut" set with the bar through, they did not help at all the dam bar just bent! But I have had other go down where we have fitted the alloy one's to the engine bolts and cut fairing and they have saved alot off damage in both light and heavy falls. RE: Oggy nobs or simmilar - Venus143 - 05-10-2009 I accept had added go down area we accept adapted the admixture one's to the engine bolts and cut allowance and they accept adored alot off accident in both ablaze and abundant falls.
