Metzler Sportec M3 - Louwai - 30-03-2008

I was looking closely at my front tyre today & I noticed what looks like Perishing cracks at the bottom of the tread grooves.

The tyre was fitted in Jan 07 & has done about 11,000klm
It's just coming up to need replacing, but I didn't think that the rubber would crack.
I thought that was reserved for "old" tyres.

11,000 out of a M3 front is good but probably 1 or 2 thousand over what you should expect.Pi_thumbsup
More likely stress cracks than old age I'd reckon.Lol3

i had a mate with a similar issue on a dunlop qualifier with his yamaha R6.

i think he went a bit overboard, but managed to complain hard enough and they replaced it for him for free.

should probably mention that the bike was under warranty, the tyre had done about 6000klms, and it was the original front tyre from OEM.

I still haven't worn down to the "replace me" tabs yet Busgo.
About 0.5mm to go. I'll be replacing it ASAP.

Busgo,
You'll be happy to know I got a new front yesterday.
I went for the M3 again.

$217 fitted at Mick Hone.
12000 odd klm out of the last one so we'll see how this one goes.

I was going to get the rear as well but my current still has a few 000klm left in it, so I figured I'd wait a little longer.
