Rear Brake Pad issue - Bill Gaheer - 19-03-2008
Hi All,
In December I changed both front and rear brake pads for my Busa, and yesterday i lost my rear brake pads - (second one in last 8 months) I am changing the brake cyclinder, pads and the brake rotor.
I think all this is happening because of the angle of my foot in reference with the brake lever.
I have tried to put it in paint (see the pic) is there any solution for this. I want to change the angle of the brake lever.

Mate, if you're able, try greatly reducing the dimensions/size/resolution (whatever you want to call it). Then, give it another go.

howdy bill, did you ride dirt bikes, as you may have a heavy right foot. i know i did and found i was going thru rear pads regularly. i have rearsets on my bus and found them great as they are fully adjustable. one other thing, make sure the shims in the caliper are in the right way or they will wear unevenly.(easy to get them arseabout) hope this helps

Hi,
For long time I have ridden different bike with pracitally NO front brakes - i.e. Royal Enfield 350 & 500 CC didnt have any front brake till about 5 yrs back. World war 2 design.
I think thats one reason for me having a bit of heavy right foot - but wait a minute - Enfield had its brake lever on the left side ....
anyways I this compounding the above is the angle of the brake level in think even I have to buy the rear set and use it.

Have you played around with the threaded rod? Mine is fully threaded and it's possible to make a range of adjustments.
I also have rear sets but they use the standard pushrod.

You either adjust the rod to the furthest position(down in your case) or Vortex have fully adjustable rear sets that did the trick for me.
