Did anyone notice.... - Ruffy - 10-02-2008 In the latest AMCN "Up Front" Letters page, a letter entitled "SCUM" and it describes a ride in the Gold Coast hinterland an says "when stopped at a lookout point,a smaller group of riders pulled up. Of note was one rider on a black Hayabusa wearing a white BMW helmet and a Ullysses jacket - attatched to the side of the Busa was a video camera, also of note were his aftermarket exhausts. Curiously some of my friends went over to query the guy as we thought he looked like a policeman. It turns out this guy videotapes riders in his and other groups and sells the tapes to the local police to be used as evidence of speeding or any other infringements." Anyone in QLD seen this guy around? If not keep your eyes peeled Cheers Ruffy RE: Did anyone notice.... - LOAFIE - 10-02-2008 Sounds like He needs a attitude adjustment RE: Did anyone notice.... - 2CUTE4U - 10-02-2008 sounds like you are volunteering RE: Did anyone notice.... - LOAFIE - 10-02-2008 RE: Did anyone notice.... - arthur dunga - 10-02-2008 Sounds like he's taking the piss RE: Did anyone notice.... - Astro - 10-02-2008 Ruffy... sometimes I reckon the constabulary makes these stories up themselves to make riders more paranoid. Would it not follow that if he is filming someone DOING excessive speeds he would no doubt also be DOING those speeds in many cases. He'd be nabbed himself. I also doubt that QLD police would pay anyone for footage of speeding riders. How can they verify in court what the speeds were? Even if the camera persons speedo was in shot, you'd have no chance of proving it was properly calibrated. The camera person would need to appear in court for every case. Every smart lawyer would be saying... oh... so to get the footage you had to be doing the same speed... so, that's ok then is it? AMCN - its free, and that's about the right price.
