Last Generation Busa - sell complete or in parts ? - Bill Gaheer - 21-01-2008 Hi All, On this slow day at work.... This though just stuck me and need advice. I have a 00 Busa, now the new Busa has been launched. Will it be a good idea to sell the 00 Busa and take the hit on the resale value. Or To dismantle it and cell its component…. I am NOT in the market for new Busa but thought this may spark a valid debate. Cheers, Bill RE: Last Generation Busa - sell complete or in parts ? - 2CUTE4U - 21-01-2008 Scary thought here, but the way people are going down, parts may get you a higher price if you worked it all out correctly. RE: Last Generation Busa - sell complete or in parts ? - Speed Demon - 21-01-2008 You can definetly make more selling it in pieces but you need to know what the new price and aftermarket price is for each component and avaliabilty, to gauge what you will sell the parts for. You would probably sell most of it on ebay but you may wait a few years to get rid of all of it, it just depends on who wants what. Your price will also be determined on whether you are supplying a warranty, not everyone wants a motor with no warranty just because you say it was runnung at the time of removal If your in no rush to get rid of it you can make good money But at the end of the day its only worth what someone else wants to pay for it. RE: Last Generation Busa - sell complete or in parts ? - simmo - 21-01-2008 It crossed my mind, but its a lot of time messing around. RE: Last Generation Busa - sell complete or in parts ? - BUSGO - 21-01-2008 If there is nothing wrong with a good bike, I wouldn't break it down. I would rather see someone else enjoying it. RE: Last Generation Busa - sell complete or in parts ? - Volvi - 21-01-2008 If an 00 is worth say 8k, I cant see how parts would fetch more then selling in one piece. If its engine fetches say 3k, I cant see another 5+ for the rest. 5 panels average @$100=500 fuel tank " $250=750 2xwheels $400=1150 3x rotors $180-1330 3x calipers $200=1530 forks $400=1930 subframe (alum) $ 50=1980 triple tree $ 80=2060 dash $250=2310 rear suspension $ 50=2360 3 master cylinders $ 60=2420 F footpeg assy.L&R $100=2520 (50ea.) Im sure there are a few other bits and pieces. above prices are just on average. RE: Last Generation Busa - sell complete or in parts ? - abusa - 21-01-2008 Volvi most of the money is in the Motor, starting at 4k and up last I heard, thats what the wreckers rely on, everything else is a bonus, The dash and forks if you had to buy them would be double the figures tou have listed. Of course people have got them cheaper so its all a bit of a lottery really. RE: Last Generation Busa - sell complete or in parts ? - Volvi - 22-01-2008 didnt think motors got more then 3.5 max (good one to). one cant really go by wreckers as Ive noted they really charge an arm and a leg, many parts way over what theyre worth. like forks they often want a rediculous 1200. you buy the latest gold ones from the states at 300+shipping. and 00's are the older silver ones. the dash well, again everyone wants the moon for them coz pre 01, but they cant fetch the price so I reckoned 250 is the realistic price but as you say its pretty much a lottery. RE: Last Generation Busa - sell complete or in parts ? - Maj - 22-01-2008 3.5 for a motor is cheapish, several have sold for that but depends on what goes with them, wreckers sell a kit including wiring ,dash, fuelpump , doesn't leave much left besides a roller and fairings RE: Last Generation Busa - sell complete or in parts ? - NEMESIS - 24-01-2008 Volvi Wrote:If an 00 is worth say 8k, I cant see how parts would fetch more then selling in one piece. RE: Last Generation Busa - sell complete or in parts ? - jaycbr250 - 25-01-2008 just out of curiosity what would you expect dollar wise for the bike im not looking to by as it would probably be silly to step from mine to the busa im just looking for something to aim for. Sell complete & let someone else enjoy, you can't get that kind of power for that price, Aust post will be the only one that will win at splitting them up for parts.
