Guys and Gals, what do you want? Are admins being too lax? Do you want them to be more active?
Do we start deleting posts that we think may be offensive?
Do we delete threads gone to the shits?
Do we want full censoreship?
For now almost 8 years we've asked for self censoreship, ie hold yourself back before slinging shit on another. But lately it seems its a free for all slanging match.
Hey I could always close down the board for a few days or a week, would that help heads to cool down.
What do you want admins to do? Its been too much lately. and now with the new 08 busa out one would have thought theres something new to talk about.
DJ was proposing we introduce a reputation system if someone gets out of hand people put 1 neg point towrds them, if the person gets say 20 negative points then they get banned for a week.
So what say you? Unfortunately there may be 50 opinions but I think we gotta start putting our heavy foot down.

Might be good to have a voting sytem. If a post is too offensive it be deleted. The best policy is for everyone to display respect, but that doesnt always happen... If someone is blatently slinging shit, then i don't see why they shouldn't be made to cool down a bit.
Just need to make sure that all votes have valid reasons & people aren't voting "just because" so to speak.

Or we could all start acting like Adults ...obviosly a strange idea to some but if people need to sound off and get nasty use the pm system .
I for one have no interest in reading about the petty smallminded
carry on of some of our members .
If you think you are being treated unfairly pm the person involed and leave the rest of us out of it.having said that the board has a lot of members who like nothing more than to shit stir and inflame the situation .......
ok time to get off my soapbox i guess,but guys keep it off the forum we are supposed to help each other and share a common bond ,not bitch and moan about each other .
This is my personal view and any one who disagrees has that right just dont bother having a go at me cos i refuse to be dragged down to the levels that have been put forth on the forum

not sure what can be done. i agree something needs tobe done but what? if we introduce the reputation system then what stopping people being ganged up on and being banned for a week for no reason apart from someone didnt like them? if people cant be responsible enough to respect other peoples opinions and views(non offensive ones). how do you expect them to be responible enough to wield the power to be able to ban someone? Perhaps if the thread is getting out of hand first step is a PM from a mod/admin telling all parties to cool it off a bit. then further action be taken if these first warnings go unheeded maybe the mods restrict the offending members access for a day or week

argue the topic , but when it becomes personal then Mods should step in lock the thread and suspend them
anyone who makes threats , then piss them off , no warning just delete there user account .
for there benifet and the benifet of all users .
"say what you mean and mean what you say" but once you stray off the topic and onto the person then you have gone over the boundrys .

Volvi - There is a difference in an "Administrator" and a "Moderator"
An administrator looks after the Database of the forum, the runnings of the back end & what not & are senior to Moderators.
Moderators are those chosen by admins to watch over the forums, these people probably are chosen because they are on more then the admins, They would have the power to edit post's, MOVE them to an Admin area for admins to talk about, threads included, locking them, deleting them as well.
Now on many forums - I am a moderator & I wouldn't allow any of the shit I see on here - to appear on ANY of those forums because it makes the site look bad. End of story really, you get people coming back like Hodge to see how things are & see's the crap going on.
Everyone can hate me or what ever because of what I have posted about Nem as of late or other things, fact is I dont arc up unless something has been going on for a while, fact is that if we had mod's - he wouldn't have the problems we do on thew site & its something both myself & azza recommend when we looked at setting up the new forum...
anyway - above is only there for info reasons & functional parts of this forum software :)

but i agree that self imposed censorship in theory would work fine.we just need to ask ourselves are we replying in jest or anger if its the later dont reply simple really.but text can be taking out of content witch is where the probs really start. my idea is to take nothng seriously and enjoy the ride ok im done

I think the reputation system wouldn't work.
However, I would like to see posts getting locked, moved and deleted by moderators.
After all, Computers + Bogans = Craptacular threads.

I think a voting system upon request from the Admins/Mods if it looks like we're getting too heavy. That may even serve to bring notice on the active participants.
