Phuck its the Phantom....... There's the V-4 thing - there's just something about it that inline 4s don't have, and V-twins have too much of.Edited by: Djpete at: 11/3/06 11:15 am Re: Melbourne ride - Djpete - 11-03-2006 Rocket, I'm getting out with Dirtbags and 2 mates tomorrow from 8.30am-about 1pm. (Have a Court Bbq to get back to) We are heading out from the big roundabout cnr of Fitzsimmons Lane and Main Rd Eltham at 8.30am. Then through Xmas Hills to Yarra Glen then on to Kinglake West and through to Yea. Not a huge ride but.....I won't be doing anything silly as cops will be out for the long weekend... Family stuff (Sunday) and working (Monday - Friday). Next Saturday and I'm in. Have a great ride and I hope you get some other guys to come along. Wendy is actually out on the CBR as I type this. Lucky bugger. Cheers, Holge (Yay, I know what gear I'm in !) Re: Melbourne ride - Holger the Dane - 11-03-2006 Hey You do know that it's going to be 36 degrees on Sunday? But hey, enjoy. Say Hi to Dirtbags for me. Haven't seen him on the board for a while. Cheers, Holge (Yay, I know what gear I'm in !) Re: Melbourne ride - Djpete - 11-03-2006 Pop along Tom, back by midday... I will ask the huggs and kisses if I can have a ride, but I don't like my chances. Know what I mean....eh? wink wink, nudge nudge, say no more, say no more..... Cheers, Holge (Yay, I know what gear I'm in !)Edited by: Holger the Dane at: 11/3/06 6:36 pm Re: Melbourne ride - BUSGO - 11-03-2006 Have a great ride guys. 36 degrees is normal.. You won't have to warm up the tyres.... Rgds BUSGO "TAKE MY ADVICE" I'm not using it anyway! Re: Melbourne ride - Sumkhun - 11-03-2006 Hi Riders, Is this the first ride of the year ? And it's only mid-March ! Sounds great weather for the jock strap and sandshoe riding kit. However, I don't think I will be able to go because - a) I have not yet sought permission from my family, friends and neighbours to start the bike so early on Sunday morning b) there is a sermon tomorrow at the local church about Good vs Evil c) I have not organised to have someone mind the goldfish , as they get anxious when left unattended d) I have washed but not polished e) my tyre pressures have not been checked by a bike shop in preparation for this event f) I may be expected to welcome a Viking ship into port, at short notice AND g) I have not had enough advance warning to be able to get a T-shirt embroidered to commemorate the event. Oh yeah - and there may be Hondas present. Re: Melbourne ride - Holger the Dane - 11-03-2006 Sumkhun, do you mind if I use some of those???? by the way, emergency embroidery can be ordered through 'one stop embroidery shop' in Sunbury. So I guess you will be there bright and early then? Cheers, Holge (Yay, I know what gear I'm in !) Re: Melbourne ride - Sumkhun - 12-03-2006 Oh f***, Morning breaks and I have shit the bed. May as well go for The Ride Re: Melbourne ride - Djpete - 12-03-2006 Not this again! Anyway it was good ride with Dirtbags 2others and me... nuff said. Cheers, Pete djpete@tpg.com.au Z Web World Mobile Dj, Web Design, Photography, Bullshit Artist! Re: Melbourne ride - Holger the Dane - 12-03-2006 Looks like you guys got home early. I made it too Yea by 11.30, but I missed you. So I trundled down to Kinglake West, then to Kinglake, then to Healsville then to Lillydale then ringwood then into town to see a mate then home via the Calder... Home by 2.30pm. Bugger that I missed you but I can blame that on the 15 minute conversation I had with a copper in Romsey on the way. But that's another story... Cheers, Holge (Yay, I know what gear I'm in !) Re: Melbourne ride - Djpete - 12-03-2006 yeah Tom, I had to be home by 12 as we had 10 people from our court coming over for lunch. Got back by 12.30... Hope it was just a freindly conversation with the cop.... Cheers, Pete djpete@tpg.com.au Z Web World Mobile Dj, Web Design, Photography, Bullshit Artist! Re: Melbourne ride - Holger the Dane - 12-03-2006 He rolled up at the servo while I was filling the Bus and had a little chat. I thought that he was going to get upset about the mods (no mud guard etc.) but 2 minutes into the conversation he starts telling me that another cop mate of his has a purple one just like mine and that if your keep you head down and raise your bum slightly at 300klms then you can get some more top speed Now, who do we know who works as a copper and rides an '04 pruple/black busa with G.P.I. fitted and doesn't mind giving it a little bit from time to time??? hmmm? So yes, it was a feindly and welcomed conversation. Looks like there are some good ones out there after all. Cheers, Holge (Yay, I know what gear I'm in !)Edited by: Holger the Dane at: 12/3/06 9:48 pm Re: Melbourne ride - rocket rod 7777 - 13-03-2006 Yeah i was out that way too.St Andrews, kinglake, toolagi, and healsville, then woori yallock, emerald, roville and home. Sorry i didnt hook up with you guys, but an 8.30 start on sunday morning is just a bit too early for me and i dont have to be home by lunchtime. Phuck its the Phantom.......
