Hi All,
Well I got some good news this afternoon & thought I'd share it.
I have been in search of work for a little while now, decided to look for what I really wanted, I tried one job & turned out to be a really bad idea.
Anyway, I was offered to be put forward to the NAB for a position, I said yep sure. Now about a year & a half ago I went for a position at NAB, I was offered the job however...
The position was in a department that had a multi-million dollar scam not so long ago at the time & it was internal - as such a full back ground check had to be done including credit history & federal police checks & well, past mistakes meant I failed it.
So when I got the spec's for the role I looked over it & thought it sounded like the job I went for over a year ago. Decided to go it anyway. When I went for the interview I realised that not only was I in the same building as before, but the same room on the same floor. By the end of the interview I had asked a few questions & it confirmed it was the very same position I had went for over a year ago.
So I decided to tell the interviewers that I had been interviewed for the same position all that time ago & was offered the position but failed the back ground check but never found out why, told them what they would find in my back ground checks & even explained I was even interviewed in the same room.
So today about a week after this interview I contacted the agents & asked for an update - told them I was also waiting to hear back about another job, they said NAB had the check summery & they may want to look in to something further, which would have meant another 3 ~ 4 weeks, my reply was if they wanted to do that to forget it & to put me forward to Coles myer for another position I had seen.
45mins later the phone rings, the agent explains what was red flagged was a traffic offence that I had told them & NAB about & so because I was up-front about it they want to offer me the job!
Talk about shocked - I didn't think I was going to get it at all & was actually ready & just waiting to accept another position.
So as of this afternoon I am a Server Platform Specialist!! Yay
So what does that mean?? well... It means I will be dealing with multi-million dollar systems & software. www.citrix.com <-- Software from there called the Access Suite, www.vmware.com <-- the ESX VMWare virtual server software & of course Micro$oft Server 2003, 2000 & clusters, probly some databases thrown in as well. All very IT techy type stuff.
It also means its a step in the correct direction for my career progression & what I want to be.. in short - a systems infrastructure designer or solution designer :) which should = big $$ when I get there, so YAY me!
So I have to keep myself away from bling... & Xmas is coming & the bikes getting sprayed again soon so... that may be hard lol

Thanks guys. I just got back from signing the contract, walked up to where the building is, I'll be on the 31st floor with a view to the eastern hills. I think its all still sinking in lol
Atleast I'll be back on the road again soon :)

yeah - back ground check screwed me the first time - but this time its all good, my crim record shows a few traffic things is all, credit history aint all that great either tho - but when your up-front about such things, I guess it shows your honesty hence why NAB gave me the job :)
btw, we have to hook up soon, I am fitting a diablo corsa to my rear & we are riding this saturday ;)

Hi mate,
will be now that's for sure :) just got back from Dynoverks & got quoted up for all the work I am going to do - will be putting about 1600 in to the bike in the next few weeks so its all sweet for that Omeo run :)
