good idea for a thread.
I used to have 3 homemades.
1. 3 small stitches in between my thumb and pointer finger
2. A Maltese Cross on my left shoulder
and
3. B.B.B on my left wrist, the bbb stood for Booze, Bikes And Birds.
These were all done around the age of 14 with a very nice girl I used to know who also did some of her own.
We used the "REAL" method of indian ink and a pin...and a drink! lol
I had them all lasered off about 15 years ago.
Best thing I ever did.
Good ones look ok but the backyard ones can be a bit rough.
I don't have real pics but the attached file will give you an idea...in fact this is almost exactly the same ...lol

I was lined up to get into the Gold Coast Indy on race day a couple of years ago.
Luckily I was directly behind a lady in her late teens with a guy hanging off her arm.
She had a pair of short shorts on and a tat on her lower back that said.

I have a tribal eagle on my right upper arm i have a tribal Tiger on my left upper arm i have a portrait of of my wife and eldest daughter on my left shoulder and i am getting in the next few weeks a kanji in the middle of my back near my neck.

I got a bit tribal like tatt on my right shoulder going down my right arm. I got a pic somewhere but yeah, one day. Interested in getting the Hayabusa Kanji done even though the missus would kill me. You do tattoos? what's the story?
