Chrome trim for your bike screen - RaZz0R - 30-05-2007

ConfusedConfusedConfused

ok this is driving me nuts!

I have posted a few times asking about the chrome trimming I have seen some people have fitted to their screens.

So on the weekend I went on a mission to find so as people had kindly replied to my posts saying you can get it at any auto barn etc, etc....
So I found an Auto Barn - went for a walk to check it out - seemed ok but thought I'd ride the bike up there before I buy it.

Lucky I did ride up - just lost my lunch to this :( firstly the stuff I was looking at was not a coping trim so it was just a stick on & wouldn't go over the screen as such - so I take the guy out to the bike & show him the screen - we then go back inside & he shows me some coping trim - HOWEVER...

its was fairly stiff & he didn't think it would make the curves in the screen edge.

So for the love of god - can someone please tell me WHAT the stuff is called, where to get it, made by whom?

The coping seemed ok till I tried to bend it in a shape of one of the curves in the screen. Have you guys used this & found a way to get the bending right?

HELP?!?! :(

to be fitted to this:

meh - wouldn't care in that case Rocket, I think it would finish off the bike perfect & its a pain in the arse when I see people saying its easy as to get - but then I try to get it & get nothing but a huge run around :(

so now its shit me, costed me time & nearly money so now I want the truth about this shit & where to get it :)

please?

supercheap auto have it i think mate. i used it to line the cutout on the bonnet scoop holes on one of my cars. you get a roll of it. it just clips on the edge and forms to pretty much any angle hey. should be fine for what you want. any auto type store should have it.

RE: Chrome trim for your bike screen - RaZz0R - 30-05-2007

ok - but can you tell me what its called? who makes it?
Like I said I found some today that I think would be used on things like this or door's of a car or something but it wont bend to the corners on the screen is all

Ok Raz, Oxford who make bike accessories make them for about $10 saw them for sale at Mick Hones, maybe Ben at Bikes and Bits have it too.

But I'll go one better onya, you can have my chromy thingy that came with mine for nuttin, its partially shaped already.

Frankly I dont like them unless part of the screen mold. I dont believe they would hold up to wind speeds when doing 200+ having said that your welcome to take mine for nada.
