akrapovic - Tag 13 - 22-03-2007

Has anybody used the full akrapovic system on their busa?

good? bad? other?

RE: akrapovic - Gnarbunkle99 - 22-03-2007

Yep, had the stainless with Ti can, the evo system is full Ti. Good pipe, pricey and 2 minor clearance issues; on LHS I needed to bend oil cooler pipe for header clearance; right hand rear lower fairing bolt also touched collector, I used a wet tile cutter to slice off a bit of porcelain spark plug insulator to make a spacer washer, no melting issues. Next you'll be gutting your airbox to realise power gains and then you'll wish you hadn't because at light throttle it'll stutter like porky pig (my guns' run out of bu bu bu bu bu....shells!) untill you get someone to sort out the fuelling, then she'll be sweet. Its' got header balance pipes so kicks in early, on par power wise with stock system from 4K and about 10hp more at peak on mine. I didn't notice any less acceleration below 4K due I think to the weight saving. If you can get one at a good price I'd say go for it.

hey there. Thanks for that. Whats the new retail in au on one of those systems?

RE: akrapovic - Gnarbunkle99 - 22-03-2007

I thought you were after that 2nd hand one that someone is trying to flog on this board. Not sure on $ for a new one, bought mine a few years ago and got ripped off when motorcycle dealership took my deposit and went out of business. I'm in the process of getting a pipe myself, its' a "Ti-force" for me. Quality product, full titanium and a whole lot cheaper than an Akro, if interested contact KAWASUKI on this board for a price on a pipe.

RE: akrapovic - Tag 13 - 22-03-2007

the second hand one is an option. as is new. Its all price dependant at this point....

RE: akrapovic - Volvi - 22-03-2007

yea I used to have a 4 - 1 carbon, rider behind me once said I love the flames shooting out of it, I said yea thats my ciggie lighter. anyway eventually went for 2 gun cans and look. had them 7 yrs ago for about yr and a half, sold it for $1400.

RE: akrapovic - Gnarbunkle99 - 22-03-2007

Yeah I forgot about the flames, thankx Volvi. If you don't need to arc up your durries, you'll need to do something about the (PAIR) Pulsed air induction anti-pollution eqpt.

RE: akrapovic - Tag 13 - 22-03-2007

i saw one on the website shooting flames. do they really do that?

RE: akrapovic - Gnarbunkle99 - 22-03-2007

Yes Sir on the overun until ya fix it.

RE: akrapovic - Diablo - 22-03-2007

Mine still throws a good 300-400mm flame out each side, looks awsome at night!

RE: akrapovic - Gnarbunkle99 - 24-03-2007

Here ya go Tag13, ancient about 5 years old but what happens to hp when ya fit the akro and do a small box mod, from memory not FI remapped either.

Thats not a bad looking set of figures.

I will be placing an order for one of those systems this week....

RE: akrapovic - Gnarbunkle99 - 26-03-2007

Just remember dude, the low throttlle response will suffer, take it to someone that knows what they're doing and all will be right.

RE: akrapovic - kawasuki - 26-03-2007

here is a dyno of the Tiforce with and without stacks but with the 4in 1 system.
