Any parts wanted....... - Fast Freddy Gassit - 02-04-2001

This is a copy of a post on the "other" board that I have taken upon myself to post here.
I am hoping that any interboard conflict is ignored for the following request. Please.

Quote>>

All Busa Cosmetics..........fairing panels, mirrors, Indicators, tail piece, tank etc etc. All parts must be reasonably priced or preferably free........ as in donation to a fallen rider. Also any trades persons who can help with respraying, plastic welding etc. Generosity appreciated .............and remember could be you tomorrow that needs a hand.

End Qoute>>

The rider involved is not in good shape and we hope by fixing up his bike we can lift his spirits and provide some optimism for the future. Obviously to post a plea like this will give some indication as to the seriousness of the situation.
Please post reply here or email me: michaelprasad@surferdude.com
Thankyou.
Michael.

What colour?

Re: Any parts wanted....... - Fast Freddy Gassit - 03-04-2001

Any colour parts, JP, would be appreciated.
The bike was blue/silver though.
It would be awesome if SAPL and yourself could assist
in parts procurement.
Thankyou.
Michael.

Re: Any parts wanted....... - demeester - 03-04-2001

I've got a mirror for you, with flat glass, not original curved. (RHS, if I remember correctly, will look tonight).

Fantastic.... - Fast Freddy Gassit - 03-04-2001

Thanks Richard,
I'll organise a time to pick it up.
How much do you want for it?

If anyone else can assist with donations or cheap parts etc
please post or email me. I'll pick up anywhere in the greater
Melbourne area. I guess with interstate we'll organise shipping
or COD.

Michael.

Re: Fantastic.... - demeester - 03-04-2001

No charge

Any parts wanted....... - JP - 03-04-2001

Have front guard, tank and fairing side panels. Contact me at work regarding pick up.

Re: Any parts wanted....... - demeester - 04-04-2001

Mirror is RHS.

Also, have LHS pillion/pipe bracket (no peg).

JP - Very generous.

Re: Any parts wanted....... - Fast Freddy Gassit - 04-04-2001

Thankyou Richard. Well done.
Thankyou JP-very generous.
I've been trying to contact you (re:costs and pickup) but answering service takes calls.
I'll keep on trying.
If anyone else can help out please contact me through posts or email.
Or if any info is required on current condition use email (I won't post details
or rider condition).

Re: Any parts wanted....... - James - 04-04-2001

Standard exhaust any use? Headers and cans.

James re exhaust - Fast Freddy Gassit - 05-04-2001

Thanks Jim.
I'll have to get back to you about that as that "may" be covered.
I am not sure.
Thankyou for the offer-much appreciated and gratefully noted.
BTW if it is not required, Bart (Geelong copper busa) would gratefully
purchase a LH muffler from you.

Michael.

Re: James re exhaust - Fast Freddy Gassit - 05-04-2001

Ok. The exhaust system is not covered. I had assumed it was.
Jim, if your offer is still open, I would like to get the exhaust system.
Where, when, how much/donation??
Post or email
Thankyou
Michael.

Parts update... - Fast Freddy Gassit - 07-04-2001

Hello all.
This is an update on where we stand with donated parts/services (as opposed to cash donations)

Firstly, JP and SAPL have donated LH & RH side fairings, mudguard, tank and speedo internals.
This is truly an outstanding donation and has put us a well on the road to bike recovery.
Thankyou very much JP and SAPL.

Richard, (in addition to his cash pledge) has kindly donated a pillion peg assembly and mirror.
Mate, thanks heaps for that. Fantastic donation.

Jim has donated an exhaust system which is also massively appreciated.
Thanks heaps mate. I owe you a few JD's at least...

The above is truly an awesome effort from the club.
If anyone can help with ANY parts either donation or a cheap price, please post or email me.

Once again, thankyou.
Michael.

Re: Parts update... - demeester - 09-04-2001

From Col:

G'day,

To help the poor guy out since I have no parts to offer, what about this.

For the person that puts up the best cash donation by the end of April, I will supply to then a fully ported and flowed cylinder head with a competition valve seat job.

All they will need to do is send me their Cylinder head and they will get back a fully preped race head, all ready to bolt on.

Regards Col
