bias in club ? - buscaTail - 22-09-2003

No offense but what is with old dudes ? not that i have anything against old dudes just there are younger female busca riders out there but by this board and club you wouldn't guess is there a ban or something on them ? :">

like i said no offense to the memebers but this seems kind of bias in the club can't see any where in a busca manual

saying you must be over 50 and male to ride one ?

Re: bias in club ? - A Real Jewel - 22-09-2003

Don't know about you sweetie, but I take offense to being referred to as an "old dude" and I've been called plenty of things in my time:">

As a 32 year old woman (on her P plates)who enjoys riding her Busa and her Aprilia SL1000, enjoys riding with the guys from this Board, be they "old" or not (great ride on Sunday Franko ), and enjoys reading/posting to this site, I have this to say to you:

IF YOU DON'T LIKE WHAT YOU READ OR SEE, f*** OFF

And what the hell is a "busca" anyway????? D"> Jules - always smiling, it keeps everyone guessing!

Re: bias in club ? - Slong - 22-09-2003

Hey, I'm no old dude, probably too young to have a Busa in most ppl's opinion.

Maybe there just aren't as many female busa riders on the net? I dunno. I don't think you'll be finding anyone here giving chicks a hard time.

Re: bias in club ? - Slong - 22-09-2003

Also, how many could possibly be just 'lurking'/reading and not posting? I don't post too often myself..

Re: bias in club ? - buscaTail - 22-09-2003

no need to swear sweetie just raising the issue Raising the question why are all the clubs dominated by men and hardly no women ?

old dudes is a term of respect gees saracsism does not transfer well over the net

Go have a good ride sweetie looks like the tension has been building up for way to long ........take a loooooooong loooong ride and then go have a bex and a lie down D"> don't have to swear and insult to get your point across which I appreciate

but each women has their own experience

and mine has been this hence the reason rasising the question it's similar in a lot of other clubs also

Re: bias in club ? - buscaTail - 22-09-2003

and Real Jewel you'll learn what a Busca is when you get off your P's ...........

Re: bias in club ? - icemann da pimpster - 22-09-2003

Im not sure about where YOU live/post from but in Ohio where I ride we have 100+ woman riders. Alot of them I have found are not on the internet at home, just at work. Most of them do not do their own work/mod's to their bike but their significant others do. The "signif others" are on the boards, she's gettin her nails did. I dont think it's a bias because no one here stops them from logging on and posting. Im curious to why everything on your profile is BLANK/PVT myself?

Re: bias in club ? - hawkwind racing - 22-09-2003

the busca female type person wrote " why are all the clubs dominated by men and hardly any women " gees me thinks maybe it has something to do with the fact that mostly men ride busa's and hardly any women do dominated by men do you want to dominate the old blokes or are you just a certified card carrying bib and brace lezo trying to stir up some shit ?:"> all the clubs ?? my ol ladies knitting circle is definatly not dominated by old blokes
anyway if you ride a busa and if you want to chat without the bullshit feminest puke get off your fuckin soap box and join in with something constructive

Re: bias in club ? - wearlej - 22-09-2003

Re: bias in club ? - jseervai - 22-09-2003

Re: bias in club ? - buscaTail - 23-09-2003

"anyway if you ride a busa and if you want to chat without the bullshit feminest puke get off your fuckin soap box and join in with something constructive"

thanks you just proved my point and reason why I raised the issue there are plenty of females who don't join this club for the exact reason statement you made

and mate I am no dyke but I won't get off on the feminest bullshit statements like that make is necessary to push what you call the puke even further thanks for proving my point

Go you good things!!
Let me see, there's Heidi and Jules and Michelle from the US of A, isn't there? That we know of...
Could be more lurkers of the female persuasion...
Geez, with the email aliases, how would you know?
Does "old farts"exclude women?
Anyway, I have heard the busa defined as the sports bike for the over 50s :-)

Re: bias in club? - Volvi - 23-09-2003

and theres Pearl dare I say it 40 something, a President (yup female and Busa rider) of another club I frequent who rides her Busa that would put some to shame. Theres gorgeous whatshername sorry but forgot her name with plaid ponytails, whos a serious busa rider, met her at Ballsy's usual end of year bash. and I'm sure there are a few others who just lurk on the board.

So busca, how about we start again? My name is Volvi an old dude (48) that loves his busa and who never swears to make his point, who welcomes as many younger ladies to ride a busa, to post on the board and make themselves known to others, who knows this old dude may even get lucky. So welcome busca, whether you ride a busa or not. I assure you theres no bias (except on busas) and opinions from female busa riders are always most welcomed and sure you may get the odd abnoxious reply but in general were all a nice bunch, just ask Heidi. Yo Heidi 2004 R1 not tempting?

Re: bias in club ? - Chopper Bob 1 - 23-09-2003

Hi buscaTail
Have you tried WIMA (Womens International Motorcycle Association) My partner Rosie is a member. They meet monthly here in Brissy so I presume it is the same everywhere. They have great Cafe rides, day rides and weekends away.
They are a good bunch of chicks and are in no way under the influence of us "old dudes"
I have only been posting here for a few months but have not been aware of any discrimination towards women. The important thing is you ride, we don't give a shit what colour, race or sex you are.
Oh, and lay off Jules.......that will get you no where......she commands a great deal of respect around here.
Regards
Chopper

Re: bias in club? - SubRX - 23-09-2003

Hi ya there Bus Catail,

The Aust. Hayabusa Club. That's our organisation, not the Aust. over 50 and Male Hayabusa Club.

People choose, are not forced, into joining clubs and partaking of certain activities. So how do you turn up, with your first post, and waive your wand of bias because other woman may not have chosen to either join the AHC, or post on the AHC, or for that matter ride a Busa.

Having been a member of the board for 18 months, I have seen none, barring sarcasm, bias by members of this board to the young, the old, the male, the female, or even riders of another persuasion.

Having said that, hi and welcome to our board. My name is David, I live in the south-western rural suburbs of Sydney, I am 36 years of age, I ride a Busa, I have a wonderful and very talented female partner, whom I have no problems at all and welcome for that matter her wishes to throw her leg over the Bus and show me how to really ride it. She also has her own bike, see earlier posting and opinions, and we have four wonderful little men to our credit.

We find the time to occassionally post on the board, but like most families, with work commitments, household commitments, family commitments, getting out to have the occassional blast on the bikes etc, finding time to post comes a distant last, hence maybe the reason other female riders don't post here to often.

Maybe you could join the likes of Girls Ride Out, a Sydney based girls riding forum, with the occassional male member included, should you wish converse with like minded females, who like to Rev It Girl!!!!!!!
