New high octane fuel at Mooney Mooney - jessie928 - 22-05-2001

Hi all,

Just though to let you know that i finally persuaded the lady at the petrol station on the pacific highway at Mooney Mooney to stock High octane fuel. It is marked as PULP and is actually the Caltex Vortex. It may be an idea to pass this info onto the other lists aswell.

While we are on the subject, is there anything else you would like to see at this server that is bike related??

Cheers,
Jes

yeah, when we blow past all the other bikes and the airflow rips their pants off to leave them bareasrsed

hey jessie

that's no way to talk about your fellow busa riders

btw, i have always had some doubts about the short term benefit of using higher octane fuels, in fact i've found that my bike runs a bit smoother on unleaded as opposed to higher octane fuels such as Optimax,,

i wonder if anyone else can comment on this?

cheers
les

You are right about running " smoother" . It will have a smoother idle with unleaded but increased GUNK deposits and decreased performance. If you bike is tuned to the fuel, ou can get it smoother.

Cheers,
