Oils - demeester - 24-08-2000 Can anyone explain the advantage of changing to a synthetic oil, and why it is not recommended to do so in the first couple of thousand k's? Re: Oils - GSXR1000 - 24-08-2000 No real advantage. TLR/S can have problems with synth oil making the back torque limiter clutch slip. Havent heard of this in Busa, yet. Synth oil is way over priced for what you get. If you put it in too soon it can glaze the bores. The bike comes with a "running in" oil to prevent this but I've seen glazing on bikes with low klms that have run synth oil from early on. Hope this helps.
