SUSPENSION MODS - IDEAS? - Fenda - 19-07-2001

The busa usually gets favourable comments on handling in the write ups, but I find my bike can wallow a bit in corners and the rear suspension can be hard if the surface is a bit rough. Ive tried various settings front and rear and currently have them on the firm side.
Id be interested to hear from anyone that has changed suspension hardware and with what results - also if there are good suspension gurus you know of in Sydney and can recommend.
bye, fenda

Hi,

Below are the mods I made to my busa, it handles and flips through corners with so much more ease than standard. And only costs about $60 to do.

Around eastern creek, old road, putty etc, I tested the mods and then rode a standard setup, the difference was 100% better. Amazing how simple yet how effective.

1: Drop both tripple clamps by 4mm on the front.
2: Tighten the back spring by 2 to 3 mm depending on your weight, you can test this as you go.

You will notice after the changes that you will lose some sight of the clock due to the back end being higher and front lower.

Do not go lower than 4mm on the front as it will probably lose you ground clearance on the fairing.

Do not go to hard on the back spring as the busa's huge rear wheel power can make it step out to much and cause some scary moments or worse.

Cheers.

Marc
