Bronze & Clutch - James - 08-05-2001 Unfortunately I have restriction on my brief that states I am unable to ride a certain bronze busa for some time. The fact that it also says cars, trucks and articulated vehicles are also on the restricted list is besides the point. So I have decided to pull it to pieces and play for a while. 1/. Anyone seen a bronze Busa with bronze wheels? Comment and thoughts please. 2/. Advice as to where the quality and colour matching has been successful. 3/. The clutch torque converter needs to be welded. Who, where etc? 4/. Mechanical cam tensioner availability in Melbourne? 5/. Anyone running the new Dunlops (race replica)? 6/. Any loss off low or mid range with air box mod? More work to be done but this will do for starters. Any assistance with any/all of these would be appreciated. Re: Bronze & Clutch - demeester - 08-05-2001 Have seen a photo of copper rims, and have looked through my links and can't find it again. I didn't think it looked that good. I thought most dealers would carry a manual tensioner. Have you had trouble sourcing one? I have noticed no degradation of performance anywhere after doing the airbox. Have fun! Re: Bronze & Clutch - Volvi - 08-05-2001 Sorry to hear that James, hope it's just the 3 monther. 1/ Always wanted to gold my rims too, though would be pretty fussy in that its not a darkish gold, but closer to the anodised gold on the brake rotors. So far the closest match to the gold I like is the stock color rims for the latest Honda ST 1100. 2/ This is a bit of a bitch, but through surfing I found the code for the Copper/Silver which can be found at www.color-rite.com/pntchrt.cfm then check out their homepage. 3/ Depending where you are either Col in Sydney or JP in Melbourne, or you can buy a ready made unit from the USA. 4/ Sounds like the manuel tensioner, however would only reccomend the latest OEM suppled by Suzuki under the recall. 5/ Not I, still on 207's. 6/ Not that I know off, a simple but worthwhile mod, that most can do with a simple tool like the Dremmel. Hope that some of the above may be helpfull. Re: Bronze & Clutch - col - 08-05-2001 G'day James, The BTL I can help with and the correct spacers. At present can do an exchange deal. The manual tensioner is worth it. But you must set it up properly. The air box mod, well I'll just say you need it. Sorry to see you are off the road, trust it isn't for too long. Regards Col |
